Disturbingly Eerie and Cool iPhone App

Thanks to @chrispirillo for exposing me to RjDj again. This iPhone app takes ambient sound and based on the theme that you select, turns into different types of music. Sound weird? I did too and and had no intention of picking it up until I saw the video link that Chris posted up on his blog.

Check out the video below and then links to the free and $2.99 version of the RjDj applications, the latter of which includes multiple themes (scenes in RjDj talk).

Avoid Automated Call Handling Hell With iPhone

Another reason to love the iPhone, and more specifically the apps that you get for it -- Direct Line (iTunes link). Designed to help you navigate those excruciating phone systems where you just can't seem to find the right buttons to mash that will get you to a human being. Select the company you are calling and the app provides the options that will set you free and avoid phone rage. I always appreciate things that help me cut down on rage-ahol.

iPhone Here I Come!

I've run out of reasons to NOT have an iPhone anymore. My biggest gripe was having a full web-browser and putting up with a slow EDGE connection on the go. That's gone. Along with that, I get to pick up GPS and for only $199?

I am also very interested to see what gets produced using the iPhone SDK. There are many sites full of suggestions and sneak-peeks. I though that TechCrunch had the best list (available here). In particular, I would like to get my hands on iCall which promises free VoIP calls over Wi-Fi. The best part is that allows seamless hand-offs between the cell and Wi-Fi networks. That takes care of the poor reception issues that I have at my place as well as helping bring down the cell phone bill as well. I'll put the savings towards gas.
